Online Bicycle Route Planner (Dutch language) Starting in the year of 2003, Demis has been the lead developer of bycicle route planners for the netherlands. In close collaboration with the national cyclist organisation (fietsersbond) and provincial governments we started with the province of south holland and by now most of the provinces of the Netherlands are covered. By inserting a start and end destination and some route characteristics, the planner calculates routes based on a network instead of using fixed routes. To place the Route Planner on the World Wide Web, the Demis Web Map Server is used together with an added Plug-in for calculation and display of the routes. You can test this route planner for yourself at www.fietsrouteplanner.net (Dutch language only) |

Geluidsnet (Dutch language) Geluidsnet specialises in real-time monitoring of noise emissions around airports in the netherlands and other European countries. On the Geluidsnet website, a map is displayed where you can see both real-time noise levels (colored dots) and the current positions of commercial airplanes above the Netherlands. The Map Background is rendered using DemisWMS and the real-time overlay of sound emissions and airplanes is handled by our MapSymbols Flash client. The client updates about once a second so you should be able to see the airplanes move around in real time and watch the measures sound emissions go up as the airplanes pass by. At Demis we have also set up a separate Flight Tracking demo using the data feed provided by GeluidsNet. |

INSPIRE Community Geoportal The INSPIRE Community Geoportal is Europe's Internet access point to a collection of geographic data and services within the framework of the infrastructure for Spatial Information in Europe (INSPIRE) Directive. INSPIRE aims at making available relevant, harmonised and quality geographic information to support formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of policies and activities which have a direct or indirect impact on the environment. This EU geoportal does not store or maintain the data. It acts as a gateway to geographic data and services, distributed around Europe, allowing users to search, view or, subject to access restrictions, download geographic data or use available services to derive information. The EU Joint Research Center (JRC) who created this portal and Map Client choose our Demis WorldMap layers as the standard map background. Users can add additional layers to the map using the "Add Themes" button |

NASA Cities collection Welcome to the Cities Collection of images. This collection hosts the best views of cities around the globe as photographed by astronauts while in orbit. This collection is based on the complete collection of astronaut photography hosted at the Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth . Using a standard Flash client script provided by Demis, the Johnson Space Center is using DemisWMS to host a map based search of the Cities collection, a collection of astronaut photography taken from the International Space Station (ISS) and several Space Shuttle flights. Being a major contributor to the ReefBase project, JSC staff discovered our product and decided to set up this pilot project. We hope to see this approach being used for the other image collections JSC is hosting as well.. Recommended

BMG Indonesia - Earthquakes The Meteorological and Geophysical Agency of Indonesia has set up an interactive Web Mapping application providing "real-time" earthquake information based on data from both national and international data sources. A nice example of a Flash based application, based on our MapSymbols Flash client. which can easily be integrated in existing web pages without requiring a specialist Flash programmer. This application is similar to the Quake Viewer we have set up on our website, but the BMG application is backed by a much more comprehensive (local) database and you can perform various kind of queries. |

Weathernews' Fleet Management Service Weathernews' "Total Fleet Management Service" (TFMS) helps shore-side managers monitor vessel and fleet performance and use this information to make more informed decisions to increase profitability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction Weathernews Inc. (WNI) has recently released FMS.Web, a component of TFMS targeting the marine voyage planning industry. FMS.Web is a client-server application with a Windows client that displays fleet and weather information using graphical maps and tabular reports. WNI has selected Demis WMS as their solution to providing a worldwide basemap for their application. The background is the exact same map you can download from our site, where WNI plots their own "business logic" layer on top of it in the Windows client application. For more information, please refer to the product information on the WNI web site. |

Dataloy Distance Table Dataloy Distance Table (DDT) has been developed over a period of 25 years. When we started, the purpose was to power up our Voyage Calculation System. However - soon it appeared that the application had great value as a standalone service. A nice example of a Flash based application, which was developed by Dataloy with some support by Demis. You can enter several (partial) port names here, then hit the calculate button to plan your world voyage by sea. This application is not for navigational purpose, the main objective is estimating distances for cost calculations etc... |

RemoteReporting.com - Fleetrack Welcome to Fleetrack, the Internet system for keeping watch over the "big picture" of your fleet. This is a sample of what a Fleetrack site looks like Fleetrack was the first tracking application built using our server where we provided some consultancy assisting its developers. It is a subscriber service where a fleet of vessels can be tracked by satellite over the Internet. After starting out as a DHTML based application, the Fleetrack developers started using Macromedia Flash for their development and managed to persuade us to build in support for the Flash bitmap format. For a demonstration, click on the image, or go to www.remotereporting.com |

QuickWMS library JavaScript classes for creating Web Map clients and interfacing WMS servers according to OpenGIS Web Mapping Specification (versions 0.7 to 1.1). The goal of this project is to enable the fast creation of web mapping clients using JavaScript. The target browsers are Internet Explorer (version 5.5 and up) and Netscape/Mozilla (7.00 and up) both for Windows, Mac and Linux. A great effort by Pedro Pereira Gonçalves to develop an opensource JavaScript library for developing WMS clients. This effectively allows you to "drop" a typical WMS client in the middle of any web page with just a few JavaScript statements. For more information, downloads and documentation, please go to the QuickWMS web site, where our server is one of the WMS servers used in the demonstrations.

Intergraph WMS viewer Intergraph’s Open GIS Consortium (OGC) Web Map Server (WMS) Viewer 2.0 is a thin client that enables the user to view one or more OGC WMS sites. The WMS Viewer sends requests, formatted according to OGC specifications, to selected WMS sites. Data from various sources and formats can be combined and overlaid in one map view, which can be saved as a context document and used again by its creator or another user. A Popular WMS cascading client developed by Intergraph, uses our world map grid layers as the default backdrop for some vector layers provided by their own WMS server. Intergraph is using multiple servers to demonstrate the kind of interoperability the WMS protocol provides, and we are confident our good performance and support for gridded data played an important role in their selection of default layers to show. Courtesy of Intergraph, you can download the ASP source code for this feature-rich cascading client "portal" application. |
